Bari Cooper Sherman is co-founder of Turner Impact Capital. As General Counsel, she oversees the day-to-day legal aspects of Turner Impact’s business and strategic planning as well as all fund formations and investor partnerships and negotiations. Bari has been a practicing attorney since 1990. Bari was formerly the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Canyon Capital Realty Advisors (CCRA). As CCRA’s first General Counsel, Bari built its in-house legal department. She was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day legal aspects of its business as well as all fund formations, separate accounts and investor partnerships. While there, Bari was a member of the investment committee and executive committee.
Bari currently serves on the board of New LA Charter Schools, a Los Angeles-based charter school operator serving elementary and middle school students. She is a graduate of The George Washington University (B.B.A., Finance; J.D.).
